The legal bases for The Caribbean Network’s processing of data are primarily that the processing is necessary for providing the service of an association and to adequately host and organize numerous events in accordance with The Caribbean Network’s Terms of Service and that the processing of your data is carried out in The Caribbean Network’s legitimate interests, which are further explained in the section “How We Use the Information We Collect” of this Policy. We may also process data upon your consent, asking for it as appropriate.
2.1 When you become a member of the Erasmus University College student association, you may provide Personal Data. Examples of Personal Data include name, email address, mailing address, and mobile phone number. Personal Data also includes other information, such as allergies or food preferences, when any such information is linked to information that identifies a specific individual. You may provide us with Personal Data in various ways on the Service. For example, when you register as a member, use our website, and interact with other users of the association through social media platforms.

3.1 Improvement of our service
The Caribbean Network strives to achieve higher standards every day as a young association. Therefore information you will provide us will be used to facilitate registering, ordering food, notifying all our members on time through mailing lists or even grouping people for events.

4. Information Disclosure
4.1 Unrestricted Information
Any information that you voluntarily choose to include in a Public Area of the Service, such as a public profile page, will be available to any Visitor or User who has access to that content.
4.2 Law Enforcement, Legal Process, and Compliance
We may disclose Personal Data or other information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with applicable laws, in response to a facially valid court order, judicial or other government subpoena or warrant, or to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental agencies.
We also reserve the right to disclose Personal Data or other information that we believe, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to
(i) take precautions against liability, (ii) protect ourselves or others from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses or activity, (iii) investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations, (iv) protect the security or integrity of the Association and any facilities or equipment used to make the Service available, or (v) protect our property or other legal rights, enforce our contracts, or protect the rights, property, or safety of others.
4.3 Non-disclosed information
All information provided is private and personal and we shall treat it as sensitive information and will only be available to the board of The Caribbean Network as elected in May 2023 and staff members who will have a legitimate reason for requesting the information. The database will be deleted as our board year ends.
Thus your information will only be kept for 10 months and then will be deleted.
