About
John Leerdam (1961) was sinds 30 januari 2003 tot en met 2012 lid van de Tweede Kamerfractie van de PvdA. Hij was directeur en artistiek leider van Cosmic Theater in Amsterdam. De heer Leerdam is van Antilliaanse herkomst. Hij hield zich in de politiek bezig met Antilliaanse en Arubaanse zaken. Ook was hij verantwoordelijk voor het cultuurbeleid. John Leerdam was voorzitter van de vaste kamercommissie voor Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties.
Tegenwoordig is John Leerdam onder andere adviseur en commissielid bij De Amsterdamse Kunstraad, Artistiek- en projectleider van de Black Achievement Month. Tevens is hij directeur van Stichting Julius Leeft! (SJL). SJL en De Nieuwe Kerk werken samen aan bijzondere projecten zoals De Suriname Monologen & De Grote Suriname Tentoonstelling. Daarnaast is hij betrokken bij en heeft zitting in verschillende stichtingen en organisaties in binnen- en buitenland.
John is een veel gevraagd spreker en dag voorzitter met een uitzonderlijk netwerk op diverse terreinen.
